Life-Cycle Seismic Fragility Assessment of Existing RC Bridges Subject to Chloride-Induced Corrosion in Marine Environment

چکیده

Bridges in a marine environment have been suffering from the chloride attack for long period of time. Due to fact that different sections piers may be exposed conditionals, chloride-induced corrosion not only affects scale deterioration process but also significantly modifies over time damage propagation mechanisms and seismic distribution. In order investigate existing RC bridges subject spatial environment, Duracrete model is applied determine initiation reinforcing steels under exposure conditionals degradation models steels, confined concrete, unconfined concrete are obtained based on previous investigation. According fragility assessment method, approach present. Moreover, case study bridge two kinds water regions investigated influence other components. The results show result section at low level becoming more vulnerable than adjacent alteration distribution piers. pier will increase probability itself, whereas it reduction amplify effect. alter yield sequence cross section, then performance A method evolution corroded proposed last. From result, longitudinal direction depends relationship between height submerged zone. piers, zone, tidal zone common transversal direction.

Seismic Vulnerability Assessment of Existing Rc Buildings in Gis Environment

With rapid population growth over the past 30 years and no significance seismic activity during this period, the unchecked development of the built environment in Bangladesh has been resulted in little resilience to earthquake. Identifying buildings due to this unchecked development that has high vulnerability is of critical importance both for reliable loss estimation as a result of an expecte...

Probabilistic Evaluation of Seismic Performance of RC Bridges in Iran

Many existing bridges were designed without adequate consideration of seismic risk. The full or partial collapse of even one major bridge in a city or community would have destroying results. There has been focuses on developing fragility-based seismic vulnerability of existing usual bridges in Iran or support decision making on seismic upgrade. This article focuses on developing performance b...

Assessment of an RC existing hospital building with special moment frame using fragility curve

In this study, an existing hospital structure has been evaluated with incremental dynamic analysis (IDA). This building is accommodated in Karaj with soil type II. At first, two 2-D frames along X, Y direction are selected. Then, five performance levels are determined according to “Rehabilitation Code for Existing Buildings (Publication No. 360) including Immediate Operational (IO), Limited Dam...

Seismic fragility assessment of RC moment resisting frame buildings designed for different editions of Iranian seismic design code

Background and objective: Developing fragility and vulnerability functions are important tools in seismic reliability assessment of buildings and are widely used in regional seismic risk studies. To date sufficient studies for developing analytical fragility functions for Iranian code-conforming buildings have not been carried out. Performing such studies are necessary to assess the adequacy of...

Seismic Fragility Assessment of RC Frame-Shear Wall Structures Designed According to the Current Chinese Seismic Design Code

After learning from several devastating earthquakes in China in recent years, stricter design criteria have been introduced in the current Chinese seismic design code. To investigate the reliability of the current seismic design code, seismic fragility analyses were performed for 45 10-story reinforced concrete (RC) frame-shear wall structures designed according to the current Chinese seismic d...
